About Denise Herman

Denise graduated Valedictorian from the San Francisco SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers and was a staff trainer at the SFSPCA. Denise is the author of the Nylabone® company Clicker Training Kits, is the resident pet expert at DogPublic.com, and writes for The Bark magazine. She has appeared on NY1, WNBC New York and ANIMAL PLANET. Last March, Denise was profiled in DOGFANCY magazine's "A day in the Life" series.

In the year 2001 Denise pioneered NYC's first small dog classes and playgroups through Andrea Arden Dog Training. Today these classes proliferate and small dog playgroups are organized city-wide.

Denise is active with Miniature Pinscher Rescue of NYC, and other local dog rescue groups. She lives with her own small dog Pi and a chicken she calls Chicklet.
