JoAnne Basinger

Jo Anne Basinger
In the mid 1990′s JoAnne began volunteering for her community dog shelter. Her devotion to helping dogs and their human companions grew out of her love for Danny and Gloria, the first two troubled shelter dogs she adopted. This experience led her to merge her expertise in marine mammal training with her passion for teaching and caring for companion dogs by joining the trainers at Andrea Arden Dog Training.
JoAnne teaches group classes and private lessons focusing on everything from raising, training, and socializing a puppy to considerably more complicated behavioral issues (rowdy dogs, dogs and babies, fearfulness, dog/dog reactivity, resource guarding, and other forms of anxiety and aggression). JoAnne is dedicated to positive training techniques and is committed to bringing these principals into the lives of dogs and their families. She believes training and enrichment are the keys to overcoming the everyday challenges of the urban dog and to building everlasting human/canine bonds.
She and her husband John currently share their hearts and home with Walter, a re-homed Brussels Griffon, Jack, a rescued shepard/pit/hound mix, and their formerly stray cat Flaco.
